The Post 530 Band (Wyoming Winds Cincinnati Community Band) was originally formed as a ceremonial band for parades and other events for the Post. The band was initially composed almost exclusively of WWII and Korean veterans, most of whom became members of Post 530. The heart of the band back then was the Concert Band while Marching Band, a 15 piece Big Dance Band, a 6 piece jazz combo, a German Polka Band, and an ‘Old Times Favorites Band” were also taken out of the core Concert Band. Members were a mixture of professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians, all volunteering their time and skills to the program.

Today, the Wyoming Winds is a Community Band comprised of 60 plus members who love to share their music making in rehearsals and performances around the Cincinnati area.

The 60 plus member band still incorporates semi-professional and amatuer musicians some of which were members of the Post 530 Band. The Wyoming Winds Cincinnati Community Band enjoys performances at the New Richmond Outdoor Gazebo, The Otterbein Retirement Community, The Twin Towers Retirement Center, The Mt. Pleasant Retirement Community, the Maple Knoll Retirement Center, The Greenhills Outdoor Gazebo and The Evergreen Retirement Home.

The Band rehearses at the Wyoming Civic Center on Monday nights from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. A variety of music is rehearsed and performed including Patriotic, Musical and Movie Selections, newly written music, and the “standards”. The band is always willing to consider and will welcome any potential new members.
