Robert C. Bass Jr.

Robert Bass is in his fourth year as Director of the Wyoming Winds Community Band.  Prior to Wyoming, Mr. Bass, taught in the Ohio Public School System at the Williamsburg Local School District, Green Local School District, Fairborn City School District and the Mason City School District. Bands under Mr. Bass’s direction have performed in Carnegie Hall, Chicago Orchestra Hall, Cincinnati’s Music Hall, O.M.E.A. State Conventions, Bands of America National Concert Band Festival as a four-time participant, and at The Midwest Clinic. While teaching in the Mason district, the program was awarded the prestigious Sudler Flag of Honor in 2008 and the Sudler Shield in 2011 from the John Philip Sousa Foundation.

Robert is a native of Greensburg, Ohio where he attended Green High School.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Euphonium Performance from the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music in 1985 and his Master’s Degree from VanderCook College of Music in 2009. Robert is married to Susan Bass, a retired band director who worked in the Kings Local School District and the Mason City School District. Robert and Susan have a son, Andrew, who is currently the Adjunct Horn Professor at Wright State University and plays professionally in the Cincinnati area.


Jim Horwich

Jim Horwich recently moved back to Cincinnati after teaching in Maine and West Virginia for the past 20 years. Before moving from the area he was a music teacher and assistant band director at Norwood, Finneytown, and Milford High School. Jim is excited to be back in Cincinnati and enjoying ushering at the Aronoff and Music Hall and very happy to be playing and conducting with The Wyoming Winds.
